It’s that time of year when I reflect on the last year and look forward to the next, and for a challenge to get my teeth into.
Back in the autumn of 2016, Trail Magazine invited me to be a patron for their Everest Anywhere challenge for 2017. I was extremely honoured and delighted to accept. Unfortunately, for various reasons, including starting a new job and adopting a new dog, Jake, who has taken more work to settle and train than expected, has meant that I have not been able to complete the challenge in 2017.
However, my circumstances have changed and I am hoping to be much more able to tackle the challenge through 2018.
The idea behind the challenge is simple. To climb the height of Everest through the year. That’s 29,029 feet, or 8,848m, broken up into a series of walks through the year.
I’ve already planned a list of routes to tackle throughout the year and I’ll be sharing how they go as I do each one.
Wish me luck!
